Fly Fishing Techniques

Fly fishing for trophy Smallmouths and large Common Carp is an exhilarating experience to say the least.  When fly fishing for Smallmouth Bass you will generally be blind casting flies, but during certain situations you'll have the opportunity to sight fish for them as well.  We also sight fish for large Common Carp often referred to as "The Golden Ghost."  This type of fishing will challenge even the best fly angler.  It is very similar to, and good practice for saltwater flats fishing.  If this is your style of fishing please contact me to book a trip!

Tackle & Equipment

We use 7-9 weight fly rod and reel outfits with sinking and floating lines attached to 8'-9' leaders.  Common flies used consist of clouser minnows, deceivers, crayfish flies, and custom flies I have designed that work well.
