2011 Susquehanna River Fishing Reports For Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Susquehanna River Fly and Spin Guide Service Fishing Report November 14th, 2011: Congrats to my father and son clients today as they were guided to their first smallie on fly. They also got to see some top water action several times today. The smallies were chasing baitfish with their backs out of the water while feeding on the surface.  With my clients adrenaline pumping some quick casts were made and the aggresive smallies chased the lure all the way back to the boat. What's surprising was, this all took place in 48 degree water! Its amazing how these fish can come alive in the fall. To get in on the action give us a call to book your Susquehanna fishing experience before old man winter blows in.-------<*)}}}}}>< Your Susquehanna Fishing Guide, Steve Hancock

I also fish several lakes certain times of the year to change things up. We had several largemouth bass, a nice size walleye, sunfish, and several fiesty chain pickeral making their way boatside for a quick picture and a release. The River will be making its way up as the rainfall from local and the north makes its way down to us. Their fishing will be excellent once things settle down. A decent white fly hatch came off this evening as well. The catching should progressively improve as the weeks and months progress into the cooler fall months. Now is a great time to get out and enjoy the summer scenery and the aggressive bites that can be had at various times through out the day and evening hours. Get bent and sling some string with us this summer or fall.

Susquehanna River Fly and Spin Guide Service Fishing Report week of July 13, 2011: The summer season is upon us here on the Susquehanna River. The water has been stained to slightly stained and is improving in clarity every day. Gin clear water is soon to come . The river is in its summer fishing patterns and the smallmouth have been aggressive at times chasing insects, baitfish, and crustaceans. Had a variety of fly and spin anglers both young and old, novice and avid. On the hot days we even managed a quick swim in the rapids. For you fly anglers this is a great time to get a good size smallie or a large carp to eat a properly presented fly with low and gin clear water setting the stage. Practice proper handling and catch and release techniques especially during the warm water periods. Get bent and sling some string with us this summer on the beautiful Susquehanna River. Tight lines from your Susquehanna River fishing guide, Steve Hancock
